Job Overview
Sutherland is hiring an experienced SAP ABAP BTP Developer to lead the design, integration, and implementation of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ABAP development and a strong background in SAP system integration, including S/4HANA and SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
Key Responsibilities
- SAP BTP Integration & Architecture
- Design and implement SAP BTP solutions and integrations with SAP/non-SAP systems.
- Utilize SAP Cloud Platform services including CPI, HANA Cloud, and Fiori.
- Ensure seamless system communication using APIs and middleware tools.
- ABAP Development
- Create and optimize custom reports, workflows, enhancements, and interfaces.
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews for junior developers.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead development teams, align deliverables with project goals, and mentor junior staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather technical requirements.
- Project Delivery & Client Engagement
- Manage SAP BTP project timelines, scope, and budgets.
- Provide expert-level insights and recommendations to clients.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date with new SAP BTP tools and practices.
- Drive innovation and performance optimization in the development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency
- Strong experience in ABAP, including BAPIs, BADIs, workflows, and enhancements.
- Expertise in SAP BTP, Fiori development, and SAP HANA.
- Proven skills in SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) and third-party integration.
- Project Management
- Successful track record in SAP project leadership.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- SAP certifications in ABAP or BTP are a plus.
- Experience
- Minimum 9 years in SAP with 3+ years in BTP-specific projects.
- Additional Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in S/4HANA migrations or upgrades is an advantage.
